Dawes Horizon XC cyclocross

Time for the third incarnation of my Dawes. My 1995 steel frame touring bike which I used as my road bike for a few years has been in retirement since I upgraded but I always had it mind to put it to use as a winter training bike

After much thought and budgeting I have decided to go with an XC set up. The tyre clearance and canti-brake mounts make this a perfect fit.

Tektro XC brake set, very sturdy and responsive and Continental XC race 35mm rubber gave good ride on the trail test ride

Not essential but hard to pass up for only  £3.49 inc deliver-Ass Fender in grey/white.

Top bodge-the water bottle that my dog chewed makes the perfect tube/multi tool storage as I rely on my camelback rucksack for 'drinkies'

Still to come-I have some wider bars on order as the old school 300mm drops are a bit twitchy for the gravel, also a shorter stem for a closer reach.
